Why rank by velocity instead of total interest?
A keyword can have high interest and be flat or already falling — publish into that and you arrive after the peak. A high-velocity keyword is still climbing, so getting in early means you rank as interest grows rather than after it crests. Velocity here is the percentage change in Google Trends interest against the reading seven days earlier.
What does "rising" mean here?
Rising keywords have a positive trend direction over the recent window. We then sort them by velocity so the fastest movers are at the top.
